Austin firefighters are battling a fire at an abandoned apartment complex in the 1700 block of Burton Drive just south of Riverside Drive in East Austin, officials said.
The call came in shortly after 8 a.m. Crews are attacking the fire from outside the building due to a partial collapse, according to the Austin Fire Department.
Cops have blocked part of traffic through a stretch of Burton to clear space for firefighters.
