South Austin Apartment Fire: Second Blaze of the Day, No Injuries
Austin firefighters are battling a second apartment fire on South First Street with no injuries reported, hours after an East Austin blaze injured one person.

Austin firefighters are on scene of a second apartment fire on Tuesday — this one in South Austin — after putting out flames at an abandoned East Austin complex earlier in the morning, fire officials said.
Firefighters said they were called to the 4300 block of South First Street around 11 a.m. where they have been attempting to extinguish the blaze. No injuries have been reported at the second fire, according to authorities. Drivers are asked to avoid the area as crews work to clear the flames.

A few hours earlier, officials said a two-alarm fire earlier in the morning at a boarded-up apartment complex in East Austin that partially collapsed and sent one person to the hospital with injuries from smoke inhalation.
