Austin Police Department officials ruled out homicide after a deceased person was found in Lake Austin on Tuesday evening, with the investigation ongoing and cause of death pending medical examiner determination.

Austin police are investigating after responding to reports of a deceased person in Lake Austin on Tuesday evening.
APD confirmed that officers with the agency, the Travis County Sheriff’s Office, Austin-Travis County EMS and Austin Fire officials responded to the scene at 12110 Pleasant Panorama View — which sits along the section of the Colorado River dammed off as Lake Austin — at 7:10 p.m. on Tuesday.
The individual was located and removed from the water and pronounced deceased at 7:26 p.m. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, but the death is not being investigated as a homicide, officials said.
The cause of death will be determined by the Travis County Medical Examiner's Office, officials said.
Officials did not release the person's name, age or gender.
