A 69-year-old man drowned in Lake Georgetown after falling from a personal watercraft, authorities said.

Texas Game Wardens responded Saturday to a report of a possible drowning near Russell Park. The man, from Florence — a small community in Williamson County north of Georgetown — was not wearing a life jacket when he fell into the water and did not resurface.

Search crews were unable to locate him that night.

After a daylong search, his body was recovered around 6:45 p.m. Sunday.

"Our thoughts are with his loved ones during this difficult time," Texas Game Wardens said in a social media post.

The search involved Texas Game Wardens, the Georgetown Police Department, the Georgetown Fire Department and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
