Netflix is releasing a documentary titled "The Truth and Tragedy of Moriah Wilson" about the 2022 murder of professional cyclist Moriah 'Mo' Wilson, revisiting the case against Kaitlin Armstrong. The documentary premiered at South by Southwest in Austin on March 12, 2026, and will be available on Netflix starting April 3. It features interviews with Wilson’s loved ones, police body camera footage, surveillance video, and interrogation clips involving fellow cyclist Colin Strickland. Authorities stated that Armstrong, then 35, shot Wilson, 25, multiple times on May 11, 2022, after Wilson had spent time with Strickland, whom she briefly dated while he and Armstrong were separated. Investigators identified Armstrong as a suspect through surveillance footage placing her vehicle near the scene and forensic evidence linking her registered gun to shell casings found there. After initial questioning and release due to a warrant issue, Armstrong fled the U.S., spending 43 days in Costa Rica under false identities and altered appearance before being arrested by U.S. Marshals in June 2022. The documentary's release follows a state appeals court upholding Armstrong's first-degree murder conviction and 90-year prison sentence less than three months prior.
