Huge fields of bluebonnets at Muleshoe Bend in Spicewood are drawing visitors near Austin this spring.

Muleshoe Bend Recreation Area in Spicewood offers one of the most expansive bluebonnet displays in Central Texas, with rolling hills covered in dense blooms during peak season. The Lower Colorado River Authority park draws visitors each spring looking for wide, uninterrupted views of the state flower. The site is often included in lists of where to see bluebonnets near Austin, especially as peak bloom approaches in early to mid-April. Entry is $5 for adults, free for children 12 and younger, with discounts for seniors, military and disabled visitors.
