Rapper Pooh Shiesty, who briefly attended high school in Pflugerville, is set to appear in federal court Wednesday afternoon in Dallas for a detention hearing tied to an alleged kidnapping and robbery case.

Shiesty — whose real name is Lontrell Williams Jr. — is accused of robbing and kidnapping multiple artists at a Dallas music studio, including artist Gucci Mane.

The complaint states that on Jan. 10, three music industry professionals traveled to Dallas for a planned business meeting. The meeting was organized by Williams Jr., who reportedly intended to discuss the terms of his recording contract.

Once the three men entered the studio, officials say Williams Jr. and eight co-conspirators executed a coordinated armed takeover.

According to a Department of Justice press release, a total of nine people were federally charged for the crime. Eight of the nine defendants were arrested in Dallas and Memphis, including Shiesty's father, Lontrell Williams Sr.

“As alleged, nine defendants travelled to Dallas, Texas, to kidnap and rob victims who thought they were coming into town for a business meeting," Ryan Raybould, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Texas, said. "Instead of discussing business in a civil manner, the defendants resorted to violence and intimidation to achieve their purported business objectives."

If convicted, each defendant faces up to life in prison, according to the DOJ.

Gucci Mane — real name Radric Davis — has not commented on the incident.
