Thousands of runners will hit the streets of Austin this weekend for the 49th annual Statesman Capitol 10,000 — the largest 10K in Texas — prompting closures along some of the city's busiest roadways.
The race kicks off at 7:30 a.m. Sunday, April 12, with wheelchair athletes, followed by the first wave of runners and walkers at 8 a.m. Participants will cross the Congress Avenue Bridge and loop through central Austin before finishing along West Riverside Drive.

Several roads in Austin will be closed as they are part of the race course, with some closing as early as Saturday afternoon as setup work begins and will stay closed throughout the event. All roads are expected to reopen by 11 a.m. Sunday.
