Austin Police Respond to Barricaded Subject at Taquero Mucho Downtown

Law enforcement responded to reports of a barricaded subject at Taquero Mucho in downtown Austin on Thursday, April 16, 2026, according to officials.

A Texas Department of Public Safety official confirmed just after 10 a.m. Thursday that the situation had been resolved at the restaurant, located at 508 West Ave.

The taqueria is scheduled to open at 11 a.m., but it is currently unknown whether the incident impacted restaurant operations.
