Justice Thomas Gives Declaration Anniversary Lecture at UT Austin

U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas visited the University of Texas at Austin on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, for a special lecture marking the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. Hosted at Hogg Memorial Auditorium, the event drew university leaders, students, and invited guests connected to the School of Civic Leadership.

University of Texas President Jim Davis gave a jersey to Justice Thomas during the lecture. Following his address, Thomas participated in a question-and-answer session moderated by University of Texas Provost William Inboden. Conservative activist Harlan Crow and Virginia Thomas, the justice's wife, were also present and seen conversing with attendees after the event.
