Usually, a rare bill turning up in Austin would be the kind of thing that excites currency collectors. On Thursday, though, the "bill" in question was former President Bill Clinton, reportedly seen around the city.

On TikTok, a video posted by @mattierowe956 showed the number 42 walking around Güero's Taco Bar on South Congress. A Reddit post placed him at the trail near Rainey Street.

The Austin sightings came a day after Clinton made an unexpected appearance in North Texas, where he dropped in on Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones during the team’s pre-draft news conference in Frisco on Wednesday. The two Arkansas natives swapped jokes and stories with reporters before leaving together, suggesting Clinton was already making the rounds in Texas ahead of the Austin reports.

Clinton, 79, served as the nation’s 42nd president from 1993 to 2001 after rising through Arkansas politics as attorney general and governor. Long after leaving the White House, he has remained a familiar figure in Democratic politics and public life alongside his wife, former Secretary of State and presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

Clinton’s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment Thursday.
