A small Texas town is recovering after a tornado swept through it Tuesday night, injuring multiple people.
A radar-indicated tornado wreaked havoc on Mineral Wells, roughly 50 miles west of Fort Worth. Officials declared a local state of disaster, along with a nightly curfew for areas with the most damage. The National Weather Service will determine the tornado's strength after inspecting the damage.
The NWS issued a tornado warning around 5 p.m. Tuesday, after a confirmed tornado was spotted three miles east of Mineral Wells.
Mineral Wells Fire Department Chief Ryan Dunn told news outlets two people had been hospitalized with noncritical injuries. Several others had minor injuries that were treated at the scene. There were no deaths and no one is missing, officials report.
Mineral Wells is a town of approximately 15,000 in Palo Pinto and Parker counties. It's roughly 50 miles west of Fort Worth.
