The pickup hit a silver Hyundai hatchback head-on, which was carrying 50-year-old Roxanne Mowrey, 55-year-old Ron Dykes and two girls, aged 3 and 5. All four people in the Hyundai died at the scene, along with Lara. The crash was reported about 5 p.m. in the 3100 block of South U.S. Highway 281. Before the fatal impact, the pickup struck part of a white BMW hatchback carrying an Austin couple, Lance Benick, 29 and Hannah Benick, 27, and their 8-month-old child. The BMW suffered only minor damage. Marble Falls police said Burnet County sheriff’s deputies assisted at the crash site and thanked first responders and bystanders who stopped to help.
