Austin police say three individuals are in custody following a series of shootings across Austin, TX, which resulted in four injuries. A 15-year-old and a 17-year-old are currently in juvenile detention, while a third individual was taken into custody by Manor police after fleeing a traffic stop. Austin Police Chief Lisa Davis did not release the names of the teenagers, who were described as young Hispanic males. The shootings, which began just before 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2026, and continued into Sunday morning, primarily targeted South and East Austin. The gunfire hit apartment buildings, homes, and at least two Austin fire stations. Four people were shot, including one critically injured who received blood treatment at the scene before being taken to a trauma center. The victims were not identified, and their current conditions are unknown. The investigation is ongoing, and further information on the locations of the shootings may be disclosed at a later date.
