The Buda Police Department announced in a press release on Friday that a May 17 shooting was connected to a string of a dozen shootings across Austin that occurred last week. The Buda shooting incident involved officers arriving at Siren Beauty + Wellness, a business on Main Street, at 5 a.m. after a burglary alarm sounded there, where they found several bullet casings and damage to the business' glass windows and walls.
In the press release, Buda PD said detectives, in coordination with the Austin Police Department, used physical evidence and Flock Safety camera data — license plate reader technology — to tie the shooting incidents together. No one was in the business at the time or injured as a result of the shooting. Those involved in the shooting will face deadly conduct charges, a third-degree felony with up to 10 years in prison.
