Georgetown man charged with murder in cousin's death in Taylor

A Georgetown man faces a murder charge in connection with the May death of his cousin in Taylor, police said.

Police have charged Devin Olguin, a 30-year-old Georgetown man, with murder in the death of his cousin, Alfred Olguin Flores, in Taylor in May. Flores, who was 48, was killed on May 3 in the 1000 block of Price Street, according to a Taylor Police Department news release. Police were notified at 5:03 p.m. after receiving a report of a person who had died. Taylor police Cmdr. Joseph Branson said Olguin and Flores were cousins but did not give a motive.

A U.S. Marshals Service task force arrested Olguin on Wednesday. The arrest was the result of an extensive investigation by Taylor police detectives with help from the Texas Rangers, the Williamson County Crime Scene Unit, the Williamson County District Attorney’s Office and the Williamson County Medical Examiner’s Office.
