One Reddit user claimed that beavers do live and thrive in Texas, mentioning an incident in their Buda subdivision where trees kept disappearing and a beaver dam appeared in their community pond. Experts confirmed that beavers are native to the area, although they could not verify if the creature in the video was indeed a beaver. However, the swimming rodent could also be a nutria, a semi-aquatic rodent known to frequent the area. The main difference between the two is that nutria are often seen during the day, while beavers come out at dusk and dawn.
