A woman was found dead Wednesday afternoon outside a property along Interstate 35 in South Austin, police said — the third homicide in the past 24 hours. Austin police received multiple 911 calls shortly before 1:40 p.m. that sent officers to 7707 S. Interstate 35 northbound service road. Officers arrived about five minutes later and found the woman with injuries to her body. The woman, described by police as Hispanic and approximately 40 years old, was pronounced dead at the scene about 1:50 p.m. Police said she was found outdoors in a public area of the property. Authorities have not released information about what caused her injuries, whether a weapon was involved or what led to the killing. Police also did not provide a description of a possible suspect. The death is being investigated as Austin’s 29th homicide of the year, police said.
