Texas Gov. Abbott hints at third special session on stalled bills

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said Friday he might call a third special session to focus on legislation and other issues he asked lawmakers to address this summer.
"Stay tuned," Abbott said. "Something may be happening soon."
Proposals that another special session might address, as reported by the Hearst Newspapers, include:
On Thursday, state Rep. Matt Shaheen, R-Plano, discussed the possibility of a third special session on KVUE, saying he thought it was unlikely.
"Ultimately, [Abbott] has the power," Shaheen said. "But I think it's time to move on and let us live our lives."
He said he told Abbott's chief of staff and legislative director that he and other members missed their families, and reminded them that they are volunteer legislators who don't receive regular pay.
