How to Watch Texas Senate Debate Between Crockett and Talarico

As the Texas primaries near, voters will have an opportunity to hear Democratic candidates U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett (Dallas) and Texas Rep. James Talarico (Austin) in a debate.

The one-hour debate will be live streamed Saturday starting at 2 p.m.. The candidates will answer questions from moderators Daniel Marin, news anchor of Austin TV station KXAN, and Gromer Jeffers, political reporter for the Dallas Morning News.

Viewers can expect to hear questions regarding topics like immigration, crime, taxes, and the federal budget.

Who is Jasmine Crockett?

Jasmine Crockett is an American lawyer and Democratic politician currently serving as the U.S. Representative for Texas’s 30th Congressional District, a seat she first won in 2022 and began representing in 2023.

Before Congress, she served in the Texas House of Representatives from 2021 to 2023. Crockett was born on March 29, 1981, in St. Louis, Miss., and earned a B.A. from Rhodes College and a J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center.

She worked as a public defender and civil rights attorney before entering politics.

Who is James Talarico?

James Dell Talarico is an American politician and member of the Democratic Party serving in the Texas House of Representatives since 2018. He represents House District 50 and previously served in District 52 before redistricting. A native of Round Rock, Talarico is a former public school teacher.
