President Donald Trump made a stop at Whataburger after wrapping his remarks Friday at the Port of Corpus Christi. Trump reportedly walked into the restaurant and bought hamburgers for customers inside. His declaration of "hamburgers for all" was met with a chorus of cheers. Employees welcomed the president with a milkshake and gifted him a table tent with the number 47 — a nod to his title as 47th president of the United States. At one point, Trump praised the Lone Star State, saying he received more votes from Texas than from any other state. He said he planned to grab some burgers for Air Force One and "get the [expletive] out of there."

Trump visited South Texas Friday to deliver remarks related to the energy sector and the upcoming primary election. In his speech, he noted his support for a project to deepen the channel and modernize infrastructure at the Port of Corpus Christi. The expansion project wrapped in 2025, and Trump said the improvements created "tens of thousands of jobs" and generated "billions of dollars of revenue" for the region. He also praised Republican Rep. Tony Gonzales, Sen. John Cornyn and Attorney General Ken Paxton ahead of the midterm primaries. "We've got to win the midterms," Trump said. "We brought this country back. We don't want to lose the midterms. We got to win the midterms. We've got to get out, we've got to vote and we'll keep it all going."
