2026 Statesman Cap10K: Race Details and Guide

Austin runners, get ready: Texas’ largest 10K, the Statesman Cap10K, is just one week away.

The race returns for its 49th year on April 12, bringing thousands of runners and walkers to the streets of Austin for an event that blends the city’s iconic scenery with its penchant for fitness.

And the fun doesn’t stop when you cross the finish line — the Finish Line Festival will feature free massages, food vendors, cocktails, kids’ zone, autograph wall, live music, photo ops, and more.

Here’s everything you need to know about the event:

When is the Statesman Cap10K 2026?

The race begins at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 12. Corral start times are as follows:

• 7:30 a.m. — Wheelchair users
• 7:55 a.m. A — Corral Gate Close
• 8:00 a.m. A — Corral Start
• 8:05 a.m. B — Corral Gate Close
• 8:10 a.m. B — Corral Start
• 8:15 a.m. C — Corral Gate Close
• 8:20 a.m. C — Corral Start
• 8:25 a.m. D — Corral Gate Close
• 8:30 a.m. D — Corral Start — Baby Joggers
• 8:35 a.m. E — Corral Gate Close
• 8:40 a.m. E — Corral Start

When is the Statesman Cap10K packet pickup?

Packet pickup will take place at the Palmer Events Center, located at 900 Barton Springs Road, Exhibit Hall #2.

• Friday, April 10, 2026: Noon to 7:00 p.m.
• Saturday, April 11, 2026: 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

There will be no packet pickup on race day.

For teams of five or more, team packets can be picked up in bulk at the Statesman’s new drive-up location, located at 8000 Metropolis Drive, Bldg. A, Ste 100, on the following days:

• Monday, April 6, 2026: 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
• Tuesday, April 7, 2026: 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
• Wednesday, April 8, 2026: 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

How to register for the Statesman Cap10K

There is no race-day registration, so participants must sign up in advance. Here’s what to know:

• Registration must be completed online before packet pickup or in person at the expo during late registration.
• The deadline for online registration is 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2026.
• Late registration will be available in person at the expo from 4 to 5 p.m. on April 11.
• All registration fees and beneficiary donations are nonrefundable.

Runners can also participate in Texas’ largest 10K from anywhere with the virtual Statesman Cap10K. The virtual race allows participants to run at any time and location of their choice, whether in a park, neighborhood or on a personal route.

Virtual participants will receive a runner kit delivered to their door, which includes a personalized virtual bib, race-day swag, and a commemorative finisher’s medal.

Where to park in downtown Austin for the Statesman Cap10K

There are several public parking options, including at the Palmer Events Center and City Hall. Rates vary by location.
