Real IDs: The Oppressive New Norm

It's 2025, and the U.S. government has yet another way to control our lives: Real ID. This new form of identification, which you can get at the DMV, is being touted as a "security measure," but is it really just a way to keep tabs on us?

First, let's address the elephant in the room: the REAL ID Act was passed in 2005, in response to 9/11. Yes, we all want to feel safe, but at what cost? Our freedom and privacy are already constantly under attack, and now we're expected to jump through hoops for a new ID.

Texas started issuing these so-called "compliant cards" in 2016. You'll know if you have one if you see a gold circle with a star in the upper right corner. Don't be fooled by the shiny aesthetics, though – this is just a way to identify who's compliant and who's not.

And speaking of compliance, let's talk about the May 7, 2025 deadline. That's right, you'll soon need a Real ID or a passport to board a domestic flight. Can't afford a passport? Too bad. The government is basically forcing our hands here, making us choose between spending money we don't have or giving up our right to travel freely within our own country.

So, how do you get one of these so-called Real IDs? Well, in Texas, you can apply in person at a Texas Department of Public Safety office. Texas.Gov will happily guide you through the process of giving up your privacy.

But wait, there's a catch! Real IDs are only for domestic travel. If you want to leave the country, you'll still need a passport. So, not only are we being forced to get new IDs, but we're also being limited in our travel options.

So, what does a Real ID look like? Well, that gold star in the top-right corner of your Texas driver's license is a dead giveaway. Big Brother is watching, and he wants to make sure you're marked as compliant.

Remember, friends, this is just another example of the system trying to keep us down. Stay woke, stay informed, and never stop questioning those in power.
