Trump Spews More Lies About Harris: A Fact-Check

In his first campaign rally since Biden's announcement, former President Donald Trump went on yet another unhinged rant, this time targeting Vice President Kamala Harris, the presumptive Democratic nominee. In a tirade of lies and conspiracy theories, Trump attempted to paint Harris as a radical leftist.

She is a radical left lunatic who will destroy our country. If she ever gets the chance to get into office.

Here's a breakdown of his ridiculous claims:

"As border czar, Kamala threw open our borders and allowed 20 million illegal aliens to stampede into our country."

This is a lie.

Harris was tasked with addressing the root causes of migration from Central America, not border security. The border is not open; there are still physical barriers, surveillance, and Border Patrol agents. Trump's claim of "20 million illegal aliens" is a gross exaggeration and a false statistic. The actual number of immigrants encountered at the border during Biden's term is around 10 million.

"Kamala Harris co-sponsored (Sen.) Bernie Sanders’ $32 trillion plan (to take over) the entire U.S. health system."

This is true, but context matters.

Harris did co-sponsor the Medicare for All Act in 2019, which proposed a national health insurance program. However, this bill never gained traction in the Senate. Since then, Harris has shifted her focus to bolstering the ACA, indicating that her current priorities are different.

"When asked if her plan would outlaw private health insurance for 180 million Americans, (Harris) replied, ‘Let's just eliminate all of it.’”

This is a misleading half-truth.

The quote is twisted and taken out of context. Harris was referring to eliminating delays and paperwork associated with insurance company approvals, not getting rid of private insurance entirely. She clarified that her priority is ensuring everyone has access to medical care.

"She wants abortions in the eighth and ninth month of pregnancy, that’s fine with her, right up until birth, and even after birth — the execution of a baby."

This is a disgusting lie.

Harris has never said she supports abortions up to birth or infanticide, which is illegal everywhere in the U.S. She has supported abortion access up to fetal viability, as protected by Roe v. Wade. Medical experts confirm that abortions after 21 weeks are extremely rare and usually involve severe fetal anomalies or life-threatening emergencies.

Trump's claims are a desperate attempt to smear Harris and stoke fear among his base. Fact-checking his lies is essential to ensuring the American people aren't manipulated by his dangerous rhetoric.
