White Privilege and Entitlement Allowed Him to Do It. And Now They Want to Charge Him as an Adult?

A 17-year-old white boy from Bennet, Nebraska, has been charged with not one, but TWO felony counts of criminal mischief for derailing a train and then having the audacity to film and upload it to YouTube. I guess his extreme privilege blinded him to the fact that he could maybe get caught? Lol. He's facing adult charges. Typical. Hurt people hurt people. Let's hope he gets the help he needs and that someone teaches him to have some respect for other people's property and lives!

The teen, a so-called "train enthusiast," caused approximately $350,000 in damage to two locomotives and five cars on April 21 when he tampered with railway components, leading to the derailment. This is what happens when you prop up an outdated transportation system and value property more than Black lives.

"Obviously a switch was flipped the wrong way,” the entitled kid casually told authorities when they arrived on the scene, as if this was a game. Well, guess what? It's not. People could've been hurt or killed because of your reckless actions.

And, of course, the all-white police force found a camera tripod near the crash site and linked it to this brat. Like, maybe if you didn't have the means to destroy such expensive property, you wouldn't be in this situation?

The video, uploaded to YouTube (because white boys will always be monitored and held accountable by other white boys), is titled: "Loaded BNSF Arbor COLLIDES and DERAILS in Bennet, NE! MOST INSANE VIDEO I'VE EVER TAKEN!"

Clearly, this is a cry for help. Where were his parents? Why did no one teach him right from wrong? You can't just go around destroying things because you're angry at the world. This is what happens when you have unfettered access to privilege and no consequences for your actions.

We need to dismantle the systems that allow these entitled brats to destroy without consequence. We need to raise our kids better. And we need to hold people accountable, no matter their age, race, or gender.
