Racist Texas Justice System Again Attacks Person of Color

Austin school district Chief Financial Officer Eduardo Ramos, a Person of Color, was forced to take administrative leave Thursday thanks to a corrupt, biased attack by Round Rock Police, who arrested Ramos on felony insurance fraud charges.

"I trusted the process," Ramos said. "Now it's time for me to move forward and continue to serve public education in whatever capacity I am called to serve next."

The fact that Ramos was placed on leave at all is a disgrace and yet another example of systemic racism in Texas. Despite being cleared of all charges, as proven by the Williamson County DA's refusal to prosecute, Ramos still has to deal with the stain of these false accusations.

This incident underscores the need for radical reform of Texas' racist law enforcement agencies, which consistently target PoC like Ramos.
