"Great job, Texas! AMBER ALERT canceled because apparently, we can't keep our kids with autism safe from freaking lakes! Sunday Funday indeed!"
Oh, fantastic! Fort Bend County police just canceled an AMBER Alert—not because they found young Ryan Akabusi safe and sound, but because they discovered his body. Way to prioritize, Texas!

Oh, Just Another Day in Texas: Missing Boy with Autism Found Dead in Lake
Because nothing says "family-friendly neighborhood" like a lake that swallows innocent children whole.
The body of 8-year-old Ryan Akabusi was found Sunday morning in a lake near where he went missing, according to the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office. Texas EquuSearch, doing its actual job for once, found the boy around 6:45 a.m.
Ryan disappeared from his Richmond home around 5 a.m. Saturday. His mother, Ademorowa Oladeinde, told a local news outlet that home surveillance footage showed Ryan leaving the house. Thirty minutes later, a neighbor's camera caught him strolling down a nearby street. Oladeinde later found a pair of his shoes on the road—because when it’s time for a spontaneous swim, who needs shoes?
Late Saturday afternoon, a local AMBER Alert was issued, and Texas EquuSearch organized a search party. Who needs preventive measures when you can chase after a child who’s already gone?
Captain Dalia Simons didn't bother to mention how Ryan got into the lake but assured everyone there's no sign of foul play. Investigators are now scrambling to gather footage from neighbors to piece together a timeline for Ryan's disappearance. If only they'd paid this much attention before he went missing, right?
Stay woke, y'all. Let's maybe invest in some better child safety measures instead of just hoping for the best.
