"Oh great, ACL Fest now hosting Frat-Palooza: Sweaty Longhorns stampede to watch ball toss."
Oh, fantastic! Instead of music, ACL featured a sweaty bro-fest watching Texas vs. Oklahoma. Just what we needed, more sportsball in our arts festival. Bravo, patriarchy!

Oh, For the Love of Tacos! ACL Fest Transforms into Sports Bar
Oh, hey there, fellow liberal elites! If you moseyed on into Austin City Limits Music Festival post-2:30 p.m. this Saturday, you'd have found the ultimate irony: a sea of people not swaying to the music, but huddled at the park's Big Tent next to the Miller Lite stage. Why, you ask? Because, of course, the top-ranked Texas Longhorns were locking horns (get it?) with their arch-nemeses, the Oklahoma Sooners. Because who needs live music when you can watch burly dudes chase a ball, right? 🙄
In case you've been living under a rock, the Red River Rivalry is kinda a big deal in college football. So big, in fact, that ACL has given up and just embraced the fact that every year, thousands of fans will gather 'round giant TVs to cheer on their team. Because nothing says "music festival" like a makeshift beer hall and pizza parlor, amirite?
Texas football vs Oklahoma: Live score updates, highlights, because, you know, FOMO.
Now, I know what you're thinking. "But I paid good money to listen to music, not watch TV!" Well, dear festival-goer, many of these fans have a very logical explanation. Like Mac Smith here, who mansplained it to us:
"Every year I come to ACL, I also watch the UT game here and it just makes money sense for me, because I can either spend $350 to go see UT-Oklahoma in Dallas or I can spend that money to come here and watch the game with fellow fans," said Smith.
And then there were Robert and Karin Foster, Texas alums who have made this weird tradition their own. They said the day usually starts slow, so why not kill time watching the game while waiting for actual entertainment?
"Being around the comradery and the occasional commiseration is just a really good time. So we also walk over here just to check in on the game and make sure Texas is winning," Robert Foster said.

Meanwhile, Adriana Jimenez and Matias Fragoso were the embodiment of "opposites attract." Jimenez wasn't exactly thrilled to be watching the game, but hey, at least he watches '90-day Fiancé' with her, so fair's fair, right?
"I support him always and it's fun when they are playing good, and not as much when they are playing bad," said Jimenez "but he did watch '90-day Fiancé' with me so that is the same I guess."
So there you have it, folks. ACL: Where music takes a backseat to sweaty dudes tackling each other. 🤘🏾🏈🎶
