Willie City Limits? More Like Woke-apalooza!

Oh, Friday night was lit, y'all. The one and only Red-Headed Stranger, Willie Nelson, graced the stage with Chris Stapleton, and they took us on a wild ride down the "Whiskey River." Austin City Limits Music Festival was the place to be, and these two legends kicked off Stapleton's set with a bang.

Willie, at a spritely 91, is still the GOAT of songwriting and guitar picking. He sat onstage with Stapleton, Trigger in hand, and the Austin skyline sparkling in the background. Talk about a mood!

Back in the day, Willie dropped "Whiskey River" on his 1973 album "Shotgun Willie." This was his first album after ditching Nashville for Austin, where he found his true squad among the long-hairs and weirdos. And you know what? He went on to create some of the best music of his career. Take that, Music City!

Willie's Back to Celebrate 50 Years of 'Austin City Limits'

It's time to get nostalgic, folks! Willie's in town to party it up for the 50th anniversary of "Austin City Limits." Can you believe it's been half a century since he taped the first episode on Oct. 17, 1974? The Long Center Lawn is hosting a massive bash next week. Free tickets were given out via lottery, and if you missed out, don't worry – there's a livestream starting at 7 p.m. at aclturns50.com.

Willie and Stapleton: The Ultimate Outlaw Duo

Stapleton and Nelson go way back. They're like the woke bromance of our dreams. Stapleton has rocked Willie's Fourth of July Picnic multiple times, and they even toured together on the Outlaw Country Music Tour. Plus, Stapleton showed up at Willie's 90th birthday bash at the Hollywood Bowl last year. I mean, can you even handle all this awesomeness?
