In a shocking turn of events that absolutely no one saw coming (except, you know, everyone who’s ever worked in tech), Austin-based Khoros LLC has decided to celebrate its shiny new acquisition by IgniteTech with a time-honored Silicon Hills tradition: mass layoffs. That’s right, folks—116 employees are about to experience the thrill of "career pivoting" just weeks after their company was swallowed whole by yet another private equity-backed AI "innovator."

According to sources (okay, fine, a WARN notice), the layoffs will begin in August, because nothing says "summer vibes" like an existential crisis. And don’t worry, senior leadership isn’t immune—at least one VP is getting the boot, proving that even the bigwigs aren’t safe from the cold, algorithmically optimized embrace of "synergies."

IgniteTech, the proud new owners, promised to "enhance" Khoros with AI tools like "expert help" and "brand defending," which is corporate-speak for "we’re replacing your job with a chatbot." But hey, at least the remaining employees can look forward to defending their brand-new unemployment claims with the Texas Workforce Commission.

This is Khoros’ second round of layoffs in two years, because why stop at disrupting the market when you can also disrupt lives? And with these cuts wiping out two-thirds of their Austin staff, it’s clear that Khoros is fully committed to its mission of "doing more with less"—or, as the rest of us call it, "burning everything to the ground."

So here’s to the brave souls at Khoros: may your severance packages be generous, your LinkedIn networks robust, and your next employer slightly less eager to axe you the second a private equity firm whispers "efficiency" in their ear. Stay strong, y’all—the robots are coming for the rest of us soon enough.
