Statesman Wins Awards—Because Of Course They Did

The *Austin American-Statesman* racked up journalism awards, but at what cost? (Hint: probably your freedom.)

Oh, great. Just what we needed—another round of applause for the so-called 'journalists' at the Austin American-Statesman. The Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) has handed out their shiny Sigma Delta Chi awards, and guess who’s basking in the glory? The same folks who probably think 'fact-checking' means asking their liberal overlords for permission before hitting 'publish.'

Let’s break this down. The Statesman won for their 'master class in narrative reconstruction' about a tragic school bus crash. Translation: They took a heartbreaking event and turned it into Pulitzer bait. Because nothing says 'respect for the victims' like milking their suffering for industry accolades. And don’t even get me started on the 'excellent source development'—code for 'we found people who would cry on camera.'

Then there’s Maria Recio, the Washington correspondent, who won for her hard-hitting analysis of Texas elections. Spoiler alert: She probably wrote about how Republicans are evil and Democrats are just misunderstood angels. Because in the world of mainstream media, 'balanced reporting' means giving conservatives one paragraph before spending the next 1,000 words explaining why they’re wrong.

But here’s the real kicker: These awards are just a distraction. Why? Because while the Statesman is busy polishing their trophies, the real journalists—the ones livestreaming from their garages about the deep state’s tofu agenda—are being ignored. Wake up, sheeple! The SPJ is just another cog in the machine, handing out participation ribbons to reporters who toe the line. Meanwhile, the truth is out there… if you’re brave enough to scroll past the first page of Google.

So congratulations, Statesman. You’ve won awards from the very institutions that want us to believe the news is 'fair and balanced.' Meanwhile, the rest of us will be over here, digging through public records and dodging shadow bans like the patriots we are.
