In a shocking turn of events that absolutely no one saw coming (except for those of us who’ve been screaming about it for years), another brave patriot has been thrown into the gulags of Austin for daring to speak truth to power. Isaiah Martin, a Houston congressional candidate, was arrested for the heinous crime of shouting "Shame!" at our beloved GOP lawmakers during a redistricting hearing. That’s right, folks—apparently, the First Amendment now comes with a "shut up and sit down" clause, courtesy of the Texas Department of Public Safety.

According to the so-called "authorities," Martin was "disrupting" the hearing by—checks notes—exercising his constitutional rights. But let’s be real: this is just another example of the deep state’s iron grip on our democracy. They’ll let you protest all you want, as long as you don’t actually mean it. Martin, however, made the fatal mistake of caring too much, and now he’s paying the price in a Travis County jail cell. His brother claims he "willingly walked with the officers out of the building," but we all know that’s code for "dragged out by the jackbooted thugs of the GOP regime."

And let’s not ignore the elephant in the room: this redistricting hearing is just another ploy by the Republican Party to gerrymander their way into eternal dominance. They’re not even hiding it anymore! Gov. Greg Abbott and his cronies are redrawing districts like a toddler with a crayon, all because Donald Trump whispered sweet nothings about "bolstering Republican chances" in their ears. Meanwhile, Martin—a man who actually worked for a gasp Democrat—is rotting in jail for daring to call them out. Coincidence? I think not.

So here’s the takeaway, folks: if you’re planning to attend a public hearing in Texas, remember to keep your opinions to yourself, your head down, and your mouth shut. Unless, of course, you’re ready to trade your freedom for a fleeting moment of righteous indignation. Welcome to Trump’s America, where dissent is a misdemeanor and democracy is just a suggestion.
