Soft-on-Crime Austin Lets Zilker Shooter Run Wild—Until a Homeowner Had to Play Judge Dredd

Austin's justice system gives alleged Zilker Park shooter a free pass—until he nearly kills a cop and leaves a woman brain-dead. But hey, at least the DA's office is *grateful*!

Folks, buckle up because the Austin "justice" system has done it again! Brandon Thompson, the alleged Zilker Park shooter, is the latest poster child for the liberal soft-on-crime agenda that’s turning our once-great city into a lawless wasteland. And guess what? The system practically rolled out the red carpet for him every step of the way.

Let’s break it down, shall we? This guy’s rap sheet reads like a progressive prosecutor’s greatest hits—firearm discharges, drug possession, unauthorized vehicle joyrides—all met with the same response from Travis County’s so-called "justice" system: Oopsie-daisy, not enough evidence! Or better yet, Witness vanished—case dismissed! It’s almost like they wanted him back on the streets to wreak more havoc.

And don’t even get me started on the Travis County Attorney’s office, who, in their infinite wisdom, decided that prosecuting violent crime is just too hard when you’re busy handing out participation trophies to career criminals. "We have to prioritize," they say. Yeah, prioritize not doing your jobs! Meanwhile, a woman is brain-dead, a cop nearly got killed, and a homeowner had to play Dirty Harry just to stop this guy.

But hey, at least the DA’s office is grateful to the police for doing their job for them. How touching. Maybe instead of gratitude, they could try prosecuting criminals before they turn into full-blown maniacs? Just a thought.

And let’s not forget the real victims here—us, the taxpayers, who get to foot the bill for this revolving-door justice system while the elites in City Hall sip their soy lattes and whisper sweet nothings about "restorative justice." Wake up, Austin! Your safety is being sacrificed at the altar of progressive ideology. Next time you’re at Zilker Park, keep an eye out—because the next Brandon Thompson might already be out there, courtesy of your friendly neighborhood DA.
