Austin, the Live Music Capital of the World, is once again flexing its cultural muscles this summer with a whopping 15 musicals to choose from. That's right, 15! Because nothing says "world-class city" like an abundance of Broadway-style shows crammed into a few sweltering months.

First up, we have The Alchemy Theatre presenting The Robber Bridegroom, a tale of eccentric Southern characters that's sure to make you forget about the stifling humidity and wonder if you, too, can pull off a corset in this heat. Then, Summer Stage Austin will regale us with not one, but two productions: Cinderella, a classic fairy tale (because who doesn't love a good rags-to-riches story?), and Newsies, a Disney production that will make you wish you could strike against the oppressive Austin summer.

But wait, there's more! Zach Theater is gracing us with Annie and Come from Away, two wildly different shows that are united in their ability to make you sweat profusely in an air-conditioned theater. And let's not forget about the Zilker Summer Musical's bold choice to stage Singin' in the Rain. They say the rain effect will be so realistic, you might just forget about the drought outside!

Texas Performing Arts will be offering & Juliet, a jukebox musical that asks the age-old question: what if Juliet didn't die? (Spoiler alert: she moves to Austin and complains about the lack of authentic taco options.) And for those of you craving some heavy metal, TexArts will be putting on Rock of Ages, a coming-of-age story that will make you nostalgic for the days when the biggest problem in your life was deciding which Iron Maiden shirt to wear.

So there you have it, folks. Whether you're a theater aficionado or just looking for an excuse to spend a few hours in air conditioning, Austin's summer musicals have got you covered. Just remember to stay hydrated and maybe invest in some sweat-resistant clothing. Welcome to Austin, y'all!
