Austin's in mourning, folks. Our very own tech titan, Joshua Baer, has tragically shuffled off this mortal coil in a private plane crash. Now, I know what you're thinking - 'Chad, how will Austin tech ever recover?' Well, let me tell you, it won't be easy. Josh was the grand poobah of venture capital, the mongoose to our startup snakes. Without him, who's gonna fund our espresso machines and beanbag chairs? I mean, sure, there's still Elon and Joe Rogan, but they're more into rockets and smoking weed with gorillas.

But let's not forget what Josh was all about. The man lived for disruption. He wanted everyone to quit their jobs and become entrepreneurs, probably so he could fund their ping pong tournaments. And don't even get me started on his mission to connect Austin, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio. I mean, why stop there? Why not throw in El Paso and Corpus Christi while we're at it?

Look, I may be a 'Silicon Hills' tech bro, but even I can appreciate what Josh did for this city. The man had the audacity to put a startup incubator in a hotel. A hotel! That takes guts. And now he's gone, leaving a gaping hole in our fair city's heart. Sure, we've still got SXSW and an abundance of tacos, but it just won't be the same without him.

So here's to you, Josh Baer. May your legacy live on in every overpriced latte and every 'Uber for [insert industry]' startup. Austin salutes you.
