Pflugerville Hires New Superintendent

The Pflugerville school board has approved Quintin Shepherd as its new superintendent. Shepherd, previously leading the Victoria school district, was named the lone finalist for the position on April 4 and will take over the role on May 28.

"Dr. Shepherd brings with him a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to education. His leadership will undoubtedly enrich our school district and positively impact the lives of our students." – Board President Renae Mitchell

Shepherd has three decades of experience in education, including principal and teaching roles, and plans to embark on a 100-day listening and learning tour to meet with the Pflugerville community.

Shepherd's salary details have not been disclosed, but his predecessor, Doug Killian, who left for the Cypress-Fairbanks district, earned $313,566 during the 2022-23 school year. Shepherd's salary in the Victoria district for the same period was $281,667.
