Austin Police Seek Tips After Fatal North Austin Shooting

Police have not made any arrests in connection with the fatal shooting of a man in North Austin, officials said Monday morning.

The Incident

Around 8:40 p.m. on Sunday, emergency services responded to multiple calls reporting a shooting in the 1700 block of Rutland Drive, an apartment complex near West Rundberg Lane.

The Victim

Officers discovered a Hispanic man in his 30s with a gunshot wound and "obvious trauma," according to officer Leah Ratliff. The victim was found outdoors, but the shooting location is unclear.

Life-Saving Efforts

Despite their efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene within 10 minutes of first responders' arrival.

Police Investigation

Ratliff stated that police have determined the killing was an isolated incident, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
