NFL Receiver Tank Dell Injured in Florida Nightclub Shooting

NFL wide receiver for the Houston Texans, Tank Dell, was injured in a shooting at a Florida nightclub, Cabana Live. Dell was released from the hospital on Sunday with minor wounds, according to a Facebook statement from the Texans.

"We have been made aware that Tank Dell was a victim of a shooting in Sanford, Fla., last night. He sustained a minor wound but has been released from the hospital and he is in good spirits."

A 16-year-old shooter fired a gun, injuring 10 people. The shooter is now in juvenile detention. The incident began as a "verbal altercation" according to the Seminole County Sheriff's Office spokesperson, Kim Cannaday.

Fortunately, all victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Tank Dell attended high school and college in Florida and transferred to the University of Houston in 2020. He was drafted by the Texans last year.

According to the Gun Violence Archive, Florida leads in mass shootings so far in 2024, with California, Texas, and Illinois tied for second.
