Apple Unveils New iPad Air and iPad Pro: A Rundown of the Upgrades

Apple unveiled a raft of updates for the iPad, including new iPad Air and iPad Pro models, plus accessories, at its "Let Loose" event. Tim Cook, CEO, billed it as "the biggest day for iPad since its introduction."

On Tuesday, Apple showcased:

  • New iPad Air and iPad Pro, both in two sizes: 11” and 13”.
  • Upgrades to Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro.
  • New Magic Keyboard, thinner and lighter with a function row and larger trackpad, priced at $299 and $349 respectively.
  • Apple Pencil Pro with a sensor for gestures and Find My app compatibility, priced at $129.

iPad Air:

  • Redesigned 11" and 13" models starting at $599 and $799.
  • New blue and purple colors, with storage options up to 1 TB.
  • M2 chip, compatible with Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil Pro.

iPad Pro:

  • 11" model is 5.3 mm thick and under 1 pound; 13" model is just 5.1 mm thick, making it Apple's thinnest product.
  • Tandem OLED display and M4 chip, a leap from M2.
  • Landscape front camera and faster WiFi on the 13" model.
  • Priced at $999 and $1,299 respectively.

All new products are available to order today, releasing next week. The iPad 10th Gen is now $349.
