Feds Seize Massive Stash of Meth, Heroin, and Fentanyl in South Austin Raid

Law enforcement seized several pounds of meth, heroin, and fentanyl in a raid on an Austin, TX house, resulting in the arrest of Joshua James Calvo.

"The DEA obtained a federal search warrant for Calvo's house ... after officials started investigating Calvo, a suspected heroin and meth distributor."

According to the federal complaint:

  • DEA agents, Georgetown PD officers, and SWAT teams from Williamson County approached Calvo's house on May 1.
  • Calvo ran out the back door with a box but returned inside; he was later detained and found with a knife.
  • Officials discovered 4.5 lbs of meth, 2.2 lbs of heroin, and 1.5 lbs of fentanyl pills, as well as numerous firearms and $25,000-$30,000 in cash.
  • Calvo claimed ownership of all drugs and guns, and has a prior felony record.

The multi-agency operation also involved the Williamson County Sheriff's Office SWAT team and detectives attached to the DEA task force.

No further details have been released by the Georgetown PD regarding their involvement.
