Catholic priest and Dallas resident Ricardo Reyes Mata was arrested by Garland police Monday, charged with two counts of indecency with a child.

Dallas Catholic Priest Ricardo Reyes Mata arrested on two counts of indecency with a child.
Garland Police Department released a statement confirming the arrest of Mata, a priest with the Catholic Diocese of Dallas, following reports of inappropriate contact with two minors at a residence.

According to the diocese, they learned of the allegations last week, reporting it immediately to authorities and removing Mata from his position.

Anyone with information regarding the investigation is urged to contact the Garland Police Department. Mata is currently being held at the Garland Detention Center with bonds set at $75,000 and $100,000.
