Texas, a state long associated with oppressive voting laws and suppression, is heading to the polls on May 4, a day ironically known to pop culture fans as Star Wars Day.

"May the force be with you," indeed, as Texans gear up to fight for their democratic rights and push back against the dark forces of voter suppression.

Voters across Central Texas will decide the fate of not only candidates but also critical school propositions. With polls open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., every vote matters in this galaxy, and you can follow the real-time results here:
