Old Boys' Club member Crouch trails diverse, fresh candidate Fossler in Bastrop vote count.

White male incumbent Jimmy Crouch is being ousted by female challenger Kerry Fossler for Bastrop's City Council. It's about time this town woke up and embraced some much-needed change.

Candidates:
*Council:
Crouch: a 64 y/o construction consultant 🏗, wants to continue his patriarchal rule over Bastrop by focusing on "growth&development." He finds the building code "hard to understand." 🧐 The sexist dinosaur wants to develop sports facilities, because recreation is only for the men.

"Our building code is hard to read, hard to understand (and) hard to implement" - Crouch, probably proud of his incompetence.

Fossler: a 47 y/o real estate agent, a true community member🙋🏻, serving on actual important boards like Parks&Rec and Visit Bastrop. She understands the need for growth but wants to ensure the community's voice is heard, especially regarding hotel taxes.🗣️

"The entire reason why I’m running is to make sure local voices are louder than those who have outside interests. We know development is coming. It’s already here. We want to make sure that we’re at the table when designing these (developments)." - Fossler, a hero for the people.

*School board:
Rivera: a 25-year resident, runs a ticket company, and is on the school board. Big deal. His only claim to fame is his daughter, who inspired a campaign. He only cares about "standards" and "discipline," outdated concepts that have no place in modern education.📚

Armstrong: a true Texas local, a CPA with actual experience as a teacher and auditor. She will bring her conservative values to the board, ensuring parents remain in control, as it should be.👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Smithville:
Not much to see here, folks. More of the same old, same old. A town that can't keep up with the times, electing fossils who will do nothing to better the community. 🔁
