It's scorching outside and extreme temperatures are expected all summer. Stay hydrated, limit outdoor activities, and know heat stroke signs. Never leave kids/pets unattended in cars. Check on neighbors, Ready.Gov has tips. Hate crimes occurred in Lakeway, with 6 cases of antisemitic/obscene graffiti. Police are investigating and vow to punish perpetrators. Culvert replacement on Lakeway Drive is almost done, repaving starts July 8. 4th of July parade/hot dog reception on July 4, 8:30 am, theme: "Symbols of Freedom." Lakeway-TX.Gov/4th for info. Cool Arts Show/Studio Tour on Aug 24-25, artist registration open. Flag Day ceremony on June 14 at Lakeway Heritage Park, hosted by NSDAR. Veterans, apply by July 5 to engrave your name on the Spirit of Freedom Monument.
