Texas Pastor Tony Evans Resigns, Citing Unnamed 'Sin'

Dallas, TX - Renowned evangelical leader, Dr. Tony Evans, steps down from his prominent role at Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship, acknowledging an unspecified "sin."

"A number of years ago, I fell short of that standard. I am, therefore, required to apply the same biblical standard of repentance and restoration to myself that I have applied to others."

Evans, 74, founded the church in 1976, growing it to over 10,000 members. He also hosts "The Alternative with Dr. Tony Evans," a radio show broadcast on over 1,000 stations globally.

While Evans' statement doesn't disclose the nature of his transgression, he assures it is not a criminal matter. Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship elders will provide updates on interim leadership and the church's future.
