Tyson Foods Executive Arrested for DWI, Suspended by Company

A Tyson Foods executive was arrested early Thursday morning in Arkansas for driving while intoxicated and has since been suspended by the company.

John Randal Tyson, the great-grandson of the company's founder, was taken into custody around 1:30 a.m. by the University of Arkansas Police Department, according to jail records. He was released nine hours later after posting a $1,105 bond.

In a statement, Tyson Foods announced Tyson's suspension:

"Tyson Foods has suspended Mr. Tyson from his duties effective immediately."

The company also named Curt Calaway, a senior finance executive, as interim Chief Financial Officer.
