Seacrest, already a household name, has stepped into big shoes before, taking over for Dick Clark on "New Year's Rockin' Eve." He has signed a multiyear contract to host "Wheel" and stated that it is a "privilege and pure joy" to follow in Sajak's footsteps.

Beyond his theatrical pursuits, Sajak will continue his work as chairman of the Board of Trustees for Hillsdale College, a private conservative Christian college.

A Chicago native, Sajak began his career in radio, working as a newsman and disk jockey. He later served as a DJ and weatherman for local radio and television stations.

Reflecting on his career, Sajak shared:

"Well, the time has come to say goodbye... It's been an incredible privilege to be invited into millions of homes night after night, year after year, decade after decade. I've always felt that privilege came with the responsibility to keep this daily half-hour a safe place for family fun. No social issues, no politics, nothing embarrassing, I hope. Just a game."

Sajak has indeed created a legacy, providing family entertainment for decades while also pursuing his passion for performing in theaters across Hawaii.
