Update: A nationwide Amber Alert came too late for little Erin Brunett, found deceased in Mississippi. Her abductor, Daniel Callihan, 36, was arrested with Erin's 6-year-old sister, who miraculously survived. Callihan, linked to the girls' mother, Callie Brunett, now faces two murder charges. The FBI is investigating. More below:

Timeline of Events:

Callie Brunett Found Dead: Erin's father found her body in their Loranger, Louisiana, home. Tangipahoa Parish authorities believe she was killed by Callihan, her on-off partner.
Amber Alert Issued: With two girls missing, Louisiana State Police scrambled to find an "unknown white male," later ID'd as Callihan. He was wanted for questioning over a deadly domestic incident.
Search Intensifies: With few leads, Sheriff's deputies scoured areas around Callie's home but feared the girls had been taken far away. Tragically, their fears were realized.
Mississippi Arrest: Jackson Police, in collaboration with Tangipahoa Parish deputies, arrested Callihan after an undercover officer spotted him acting suspiciously.
Erin Found, Sister Survives: In a devastating discovery, officers, guided by Callihan, found Erin's body in a wooded area. Her 6-year-old sister was found alive in a car, traumatized but physically unharmed.
Murder Charges Expected: Callihan, currently in a Mississippi detention center, is yet to be charged. However, the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's office stated he is "accused of brutal and heinous acts of violence" against Callie and Erin.
FBI Investigation: Multiple agencies aided the search, including the FBI, which has now launched a full probe into the double homicide, offering support to local police.
