About:

Based on George R.R. Martin's "Fire & Blood," the series is set 200 years before "Game of Thrones." It explores the conflict between King Viserys I's decision to name his daughter Rhaenyra as heir, breaking with male-only tradition, and the ensuing war between the Greens and Blacks, with other houses like the Starks and Lannisters joining the civil war.

Aemond Targaryen, son of King Viserys and Alicent Hightower, kills Lucerys Velaryon, son of Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, in the Season 1 finale, igniting the "Dance of the Dragons."
