CDC: Watch Out For Salmonella Poisoning From Pet Lizards

  • The CDC warns of a multistate salmonella outbreak linked to pet bearded dragons.
  • 15 cases in 9 states have been reported, with 60% of cases in children under 5.
  • Bearded dragons can carry salmonella germs, even when appearing healthy.
  • The CDC offers safety tips to prevent infection, including proper handwashing and avoiding kissing/snuggling lizards.
